PRAYER JOURNAL 6/4/19
Well of course the Book of Acts Church baptized in the Name
of Jesus. Any other name or “names” would mean….
Apostle Peter preached false
doctrine,
Acts 2:37-38 Now when
they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of
the Apostles, “Men and brethren, what shall we do?” Then Peter said to them, “Repent and let every
one of you be baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins;
and you shall receive the Gift of the Holy Spirit. (nkjv)
AND…
Apostle Paul led the Colossians
astray,
Colossians 3:17 And
whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the Name of the Lord Jesus, giving
thanks to God and the Father through Him. (kjv)
ALSO…
Anyone who baptized believers in the
Book of Acts should be accused of heresy and indicted,
Acts 8:16 For as yet He was fallen on none of them; only they were
baptized in the Name of the Lord Jesus. (kjv)
Acts 19:5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the Name of the
Lord Jesus. (kjv)
NOW…
Are we to believe that the other instances of Baptism in Acts were
done differently; do you really think that after the experience they had
received on the Day of Pentecost and the message Peter preached, the Apostles
would have baptized anyone using any other name but the Name of Jesus?
Acts 2:41 Then they
that gladly received his word were baptized and the same day there were added
unto them about three thousand souls. (kjv)… Gladly receive; gladly obeyed.
Act 8:12 But when they
believed Philip preaching the things concerning the Kingdom of God and the Name
of Jesus, they were baptized both men and women. (kjv)….they heard, they believed they
obeyed.
Acts 8:13 Then Simon
himself believed also; and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip and
wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done. (kjv)…The same Philip that preached the
Name of Jesus…baptism, miracles, and signs in one Name; Jesus.
Acts 8:35-36, 38 Then Philip opened his
mouth and began at the same scripture and preached unto him, Jesus. 36 And as
they went on their way, they came unto a certain water; and the eunuch said,
“See, here is water, what doth hinder me to be baptized?” 38 And he commanded
the chariot to stand still; and they went down both into the water, both Philip
and the eunuch, and he baptized him. (kjv) …Same Philip, same message, same act of obedience.
Acts 9:17-18 And
Ananias went his way and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him
said, “Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way
as thou came, hath sent me that you may receive your sight and be filled with
the Holy Ghost. 18 And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been
scales; and he received his sight forthwith, and arose and was baptized. (kjv)….Saul whose name was changed to Paul
who wrote to the Colossians to do everything in the Name of Jesus.
Acts 10:46-48 For they
heard them speak with tongues and magnify God. Then answered Peter, 47 “Can any
man forbid water that these should not be baptized which have received the Holy
Ghost as well as we?” 48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the Name of
the Lord, then prayed for them to tarry certain days. (kjv)...Peter preached the same message to the Gentiles as he preached to the
Jews on the Day of Pentecost.
Acts 16:14-15 And a
certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which
worshipped God, heard us; whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended to the
things which were spoken of Paul. 15 And when she was baptized and her
household…. (kjv)… The same message was for Women, also, given by the same Apostle Paul who
wrote to the Colossians to do everything in the Name of Jesus.
We can just “throw
out” the Book of Acts or at least “black
out” the verses that contradict our beliefs and practices. We can choose to believe a doctrine that was
established in 325A.D. by a powerful coalition of self-professed theologians
after the death of the Apostles…
OR…
We could OBEY the
Word of God and the doctrine that was ESTABLISHED
by God on the Day of Pentecost, as PREACHED
by Peter and PRACTICED by the
other Apostles.
